I picture myself looking back from the end, and keep wandering until I recognise that perspective.
A one-person artist collective. Through music, words, images and education, I try to make the world a little more beautiful.
Composition
Classical music, music for dance, musicals, pop songs, cabaret songs, film scores, advertising jingles, television themes, and children’s songs.
Performance
From the intimate Toomler to the majestic Carré. From festival stages to theatres, TV shows and recording studios. From weddings and funerals to concert halls — from Sweden to Spain. Wherever music is needed. Versatility and flexibility are my hallmarks.

Piano and Accordeon
Amir plays music in every style, with passion and a keen sense of context. Thousands of melodies at his fingertips — and an endless supply of new ones created on the spot.

Instant Classical
Classical improvisations, both solo and in collaboration with musicians such as Sietse van Gorkom.

Paramo Orchestra
A flexible ensemble consisting of musicians fluent in both classical and light music, founded and led by Amir. Here you see them performing an arrangement of Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 2 in Barcelona, following a last-minute audience request.
Tekst
My brother taught me to read when he was seven and I was four. He sat across from me, which is why I spent my early years reading books upside down — a skill that still proves useful in restaurants with only one menu to share.
I once dreamed of becoming a writer. I’ve yet to write a book, but I’ve written plenty of words: poems, lyrics, columns, blogs, screenplays, articles, letters. Some playful, some profound. For myself, and for others.
Usually I write in Dutch, to see some samples, switch to the Dutch version of this site.
Teaching
I teach piano, composition and music theory — to motivated beginners and advanced students alike. Good piano lessons are always tailor-made. What do you want to learn? What music do you listen to? When you work with music you love, study turns into pleasure. And whether you’re exploring Bach or the Bee Gees, you’ll eventually encounter the same things.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you have a schedule of concerts and performances? Where can we see and hear you?
I often perform at private events, but every now and then there’s something public and fun. If you’d like to be informed when that happens, you can subscribe to my newsletter.
You create beautiful things. People like you make the world less boring. How can I support your mission, or simply say thank you?
That’s so kind — thank you, it truly means a lot. There’s plenty you can do: listen to my music, share my name when people are looking for something beautiful, buy something from my shop, or become a supporter at elaia.nl. Follow me on Instagram and share my work every now and then. And, of course, subscribe to the newsletter.
Shouldn’t you focus on one thing and conquer the world with that?
If you only make pumpkin soup, you can become the world’s best at it. I admire people who can do that.
In my case, I am focused on one thing: imagining beautiful things and bringing them to life — enriching the world, touching people, delighting them, comforting them.
I used to take piano lessons. I had some talent but quit, and now I regret it.
That’s not really a question, is it? But still — either embrace the choices you’ve made, or do something to make it right.
You learn to cook because you want to eat better, not to open a Michelin-star restaurant. If that were your dream, you’d already be doing it. If you see music-making as nourishment for your soul, there’s no minimum level of virtuosity required. Just go for it.
I’d like something from you — a painting, a lesson, or a performance. How can I reach you?
Simply, through the contact form.
